1. How do I choose the right watch winder for my watch?

The choice depends on your watch's movement and how many automatic watches you own. Check the TPD range and rotation direction recommended by your watch manufacturer. If you are unsure, contact us with your watch brand and model and we will help you choose.

2. What is TPD (turns per day)?

TPD is the number of rotations a winder completes in 24 hours. Each automatic movement has a TPD range recommended by its manufacturer to stay fully wound.

3. What is the rotation direction, and why does it matter?

Depending on its movement, a watch winds clockwise, anti-clockwise or in both directions. Your watch manufacturer's documentation indicates the right direction for your movement.

4. What is the difference between a single and a multi-watch winder?

A single winder holds and winds one watch. A multi-watch winder has several rotors, so a collection of automatics stays wound at the same time. The capacity of each model is listed on its product page.

5. Do winders work with all automatic watches?

Winders work with automatic (self-winding) movements. Because manufacturers recommend different TPD ranges and rotation directions, check your watch's documentation before choosing a winder. If you are unsure, contact us and we will help.

6. Can I use a winder with a quartz or manual-wind watch?

No, quartz (battery-powered) watches don't need winding, and manual-wind watches are wound by the crown rather than by motion. Winders are for automatic movements only.

7. Does a winder charge my watch like a battery?

No. A winder is mechanical in effect: its rotation moves the watch's oscillating rotor, which winds the mainspring, as wearing the watch would. Nothing electronic touches or connects to your watch.

8. What are the winders made of?

9. Are the winders quiet?

10. How should I store automatic watches I don't keep on a winder?
